“This court decision is horrific”

David Lankes schreibt auf Facebook (kein Link zu Meta, aus Gründen):

“This court decision is horrific and could radically change how public libraries operate in the US. The court in this case says, in essence, there is no such thing as banning books if the material could be purchased somewhere else, totally ignoring the access issue. It sets up local governments purging collections based on political ideology. If this stands it is the worst scenario I can think of for public libraries. Keep them open and just make them propaganda supporting machines.
While we pay attention and decry federal attacks against IMLS and the Library of Congress, this act from the 5th circuit could undermine all libraries in the country.”
