The Church in Wales has been accused of committing „historical vandalism“ after deciding to break up and sell off part of one of the oldest collections of books in Wales. Around 200 volumes from Llandaff Cathedral Library, in Cardiff, will go under the hammer at Bonhams auctioneer’s in Bath later this month. While the church authorities say the books being sold are „of little historical or theological significance to Llandaff Cathedral“, opponents say that breaking up the library is a disgrace in itself.
